My question is though why would someone choose to use your subtitles for another language version? Isn't that cheating as well? It's lazy and it can cause problems. Anybody who has worked with different languages before knows that meanings can get lost in translation and you just try your best to convey the concept in the translation, but when you take a translation and TRANSLATE that even MORE is lost. The farther you get from the original source material in this way, the more that is going to get lost and the fans ultimately suffer. That is not to say that any translating group is not doing their best to do the best translation they can come up with, but well.. I just feel it's wrong not come back to the original material. |
